Project Freight Network Expands Presence in North Africa with MGL Cargo Services

The Project Freight Network (PFN) has added MGL Cargo Services as its semi-exclusive representative for Egypt, marking a key step in strengthening its foothold across North Africa’s logistics landscape.

Founded in 2006, MGL Cargo Services, headquartered in Cairo, brings nearly two decades of logistics experience to the network. The company offers a wide scope of services, from import and export cargo handling to customs clearance, port operations support, and container tracking. Its team of industry professionals also handles specialized project freight, out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments, and breakbulk cargo—areas where precision and reliability are critical.

Strengthening PFN’s Regional Reach

Operating from 8 Ghaleb Hamouda El Otaibi, 10th Floor, Al Nozha Al Gedida, Cairo, MGL Cargo Services plays an active role in Egypt’s import and export sectors. The company regularly manages exports to the UAE, Kuwait, and the United States, while coordinating imports from Brazil, China, and Turkey. Its proven track record in vessel chartering and complex project cargo handling positions it as a strong regional partner for PFN’s international members.

PFN Managing Director Peter Bouwhuis highlighted the strategic value of this partnership, saying,

“We are delighted to welcome MGL Cargo Services to our growing global network. Their experience in project cargo handling and their strong operational footprint in Egypt bring important value to our members and clients seeking dependable logistics partners across the Middle East and Africa.”

Expanding Collaboration Across the Network

For MGL Cargo Services, joining PFN is more than an affiliation—it’s a step toward greater collaboration within a global community of logistics professionals. Wassim Magdy, Managing Director at MGL, said,

“Becoming part of PFN is an exciting development for our company. We look forward to contributing to the network and working closely with fellow members to deliver efficient, transparent, and professional logistics solutions for complex cargo movements.”

The addition of MGL Cargo strengthens PFN’s global coverage and reinforces its network of experienced project freight specialists. With Egypt serving as a key gateway between Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, the partnership is set to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency for members engaged in heavy-lift and breakbulk logistics.
