Breakbulk Europe 2023 Smashes Event Records

Breakbulk Europe 2023 has been hailed as a spectacular success, with a record-breaking attendance of 10,445 industry professionals from across the supply chain. The three-day event took place at Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands.

Highlights:

  • Total attendees increased by 15 percent compared to 2022.
  • Participants from over 126 countries, another record high for Breakbulk events.
  • Visitors from the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium led the pack, while countries like China, India, Turkey, the UAE, Brazil, and Singapore showed significant increases in numbers.

The event featured 534 exhibitors representing various aspects of the breakbulk supply chain. The Breakbulk Global Shipper Network, a worldwide network of shippers involved in industrial projects and cargo, also reported record-high numbers, with 444 members in attendance—double the number from the previous year.

According to industry professionals, Breakbulk Europe stands out as an exceptional exhibition that brings together a wide range of exhibitors and visitors from the entire supply chain. It provides a powerful business opportunity, extending beyond networking to showcase companies, products, and services. The event has consistently fostered strong and enduring partnerships.

The main stage, sponsored by DHL Global Forwarding, hosted thought-provoking panel sessions where speakers debated hot topics such as nuclear power, offshore wind, air cargo, and the role of ports in supply chain efficiency. The Women in Breakbulk Breakfast gathered over 150 participants, focusing on inspiring and empowering women in the industry.

Innovation and technology played a significant role at the all-new Breakbulk Futures Zone, which featured products and services from industry innovators.

Breakbulk Europe 2024 is set to return to Rotterdam Ahoy on May 21-23, offering another opportunity for professionals in the industry to connect, collaborate, and showcase their expertise.
